You have heard it before; Don’t drink alcohol and drive a motor vehicle. This is especially true over the next few weeks. The Florida Highway Patrol is targeting Orlando drunk drivers looking for people driving in the Orlando area under the influence of alcohol. Florida Highway Patrol Director Col. David Brierton says, “The choice to drink and drive is a bad decision that could lead to grave consequences.” “Be responsible and don’t drink and drive.”
Over the next two weeks, the Florida Highway Patrol will concentrate its DUI enforcement efforts on drunk driving as part of the National Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign that last through Labor Day, September 1, 2014. All uniformed FHP officers, including those normally assigned to administrative duties, will patrol Orlando interstates and other major Florida roads during the four-day holiday in search of DUI drivers. This effort is designed to reduce the number of Orlando drunk driving incidents through increased patrol presence.
