Worthless Check  - It is a violation of Florida law for a person to issue a check or draft knowing that there are not sufficient funds on deposit to cover the face amount of the check or draft. Likewise, it is also a criminal offense (3rd degree felony) to "STOP PAYMENT" on a check where goods or services have been provided, with the intent to defraud the payee.
